It's great fun to work with couples on their customized weddings but I am also drawn to ceremonies honoring loss. In this culture we are adept at handling joy and success. But loss is inevitable for each of us, and we don’t do loss very well. Losses in careers, marriages, health - including failure to conceive and miscarriage - can affect us in profound and lasting ways; they too deserve to be named and honored through ceremony.
